Get those umbrellas ready for Thursday, January 24th, because we are expecting some heavy rain.
Downpours are expected today and there may even be a flash flood warning. Heavy rain will come through all five boroughs around 8 a.m. Thunderstorms are expected from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. With that you can assume the streets, subway and highways may get flooded. There's also gusty winds amid a Wind Advisory.
The rain is said to finish by the evening rush hour.
Even though there will be rain, it won't necessarily be cold out for the day. We are dealing with another day of warmth and NO SNOW! We're going to say tempartures go in the 50s before heading down to mis-30s by Friday. Low-30s Saturday, and back up close to 40 on Sunday.
So far this winter we have only seen 7 inches of snow, by this point we would usually see around 10 inches. Drastically different from this point last year when we had received 18 inches of snow by this time.
