A man believed to be a relative of Beyonce was shot and killed earlier this week. He was 34.
A 21-year-old woman is suspected to be responsible for the death of San Antonio rapper Martell DeRouen who was found dead by police in his apartment on Tuesday (January 26). According to local outlets, the discovery was made after a friend of the slain hip-hop musician requested police to conduct a welfare check after not hearing from DeRouen in several days.
As San Antonio Express-News reports, DeRouen, who performed under the stage name Kardone, was later identified by friends as the “Drunk in Love” singer’s cousin. (Neither Beyonce nor her rep has confirmed, denied, or publicly commented on reports of DeRouen’s death as yet.)
The suspect in DeRouen’s murder has been identified as a woman named Sasha Skare, according to CBS Austin. She remains at large.
Speaking of the memory of his friend, Fyngermade Studio owner Brian Mitchell, described DeRouen as a gentle, quiet, and humble person. "Kardone was one of those ones who rose and shine bright, brighter than, you know, some of those that was in the room with him," said Mitchell.
As for the entertainer’s alleged relation to Beyonce, Mitchell said it was not something DeRouen boasted about. "That's not even something he would even mention to people,” he explained of his friend. “We'd just have to put in his bios because it's just, it's worthy to put it in there, but he doesn't like stuff like that.”
