Furious Game Show Contestant Freaks Out, Destroys Set

Losing is never fun, especially if it happens on a TV game show where potentially millions of people are watching your agony of defeat. However, anyone who has seen Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, The Price is Right, or really any other game show knows that the losing contestants are always cordial and humble at the end of the show as they applaud for the winner. But that isn't always the case, as viewers of one game show found out.

It happened on the Icelandic game show Gettu Betur, which means "Make A Better Guess." The show sees two teams of either high school or college students compete against each other in an academic challenge. During an episode this past week, when one of the two teams playing answered a question correctly, a member of the opposing team didn't handle it well.

That contestant, Jon Jorundur, flew into a rage. Furious, he slammed his glass of water to the ground, knocked over his lectern and threw his teammate's glass of water against a wall, then he stormed off the set and continued to wreak havoc off-camera, all while the host and his fellow contestants looked on in utter disbelief.

In the confusion that follows, according to Twitter users who speak Icelandic, someone says, "Woah, what's going on," and the shocked host then suggests cutting to a commercial, all while there are sounds of more things being thrown backstage.

It seems the contestant became enraged because the opposing team buzzed in to answer the question just ahead of his team, even though he seems to ring in before them. No word on what happened after the show.
