Jon Bon Jovi never saw Sex and the City before appearing on the show in the second season of the series.
In 1999, Bon Jovi played a character on the HBO series that met Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) right after her breakup with Mr. Big. Bon Jovi met Carrie in the lobby while she was waiting to see a therapist to deal with the breakup. Bon Jovi said he took the role because he was trying to get into movies.
During a chat with Andy Cohen on Andy Cohen Live, the music legend said he had no idea how popular the HBO series was.
“I started taking these episodes of TV shows to get out there and have more people see me to put me in their movies,” he explained. “I didn’t know what Sex and the City was. It was the beginning of the second season and I was not caught up on the first one, so I really didn’t know the impact that show was gonna have. Now, when I look back, I go, ‘Yeah, I was on Sex and the City,’ as if I knew, but I really didn’t.”
He also admits in the interview that he has never seen an episode of Friends or Game of Thrones!
