Former Bachelor and Football player, Colton Underwood has come out as gay on Good Morning America, Wednesday April 14th.
In a sit down interview with Robin Roberts, Underwood is 'speaking his truth' saying to Roberts and the rest of the world "I’m gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it… I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been in my life.” He continues:
"I got into a place for me in my personal life that was dark and bad and I can list a bunch of different things but they'd all be excuses ... I would have rather died than say I'm gay and I think that was sort of my wake-up call." It was so bad the former Bachelor thought about taking his own life. "There was a moment in L.A. where I woke up and I didn't think I was going to wake up. I didn't have the intention of waking up and I did. And I think for me that was my wake-up call ... this is your life, take back control."

Before the interview Roberts tweeted out a tease for the exclusive interview saying: "I sat down with former #Bachelor star @colton for a deeply personal conversation. Like for so many...this past year was a time of deep reflection. You'll hear from #ColtonUnderwood in his own words exclusively coming up on GMA."
