While there's lots of excitement around the announcement of an animated Super Mario Bros movie, and its cast, there's also some interesting hot-takes out there.
Mainly, some confusion over the cast chosen to voice each of the characters...

Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, just to name a few.
Along with how haphazard the casting seems to be, or "unhinged" as one Twitter user puts it, lots of fans are up in arms over the blatant disregard for actual voice actors in favor of big name celebrities.
In response to Chris Pratt as Mario, some had no problem bringing up the actor's problematic comments and actions.
And when it comes to Jack Black as Bowser and Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, everyone is just kinda...here for it?
