Jersey City's own St. Peter's Peacocks almost took it all the way in March Madness. The hometown pride for this underdog team was unmatched as they went head to head with USC.
Even though they couldn't take the title, the pride still remains!
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop announced Monday that the city would hold a parade and celebration for the team and their accomplishments in this year's NCAA Tournament.
"We are going to incorporate the Saint Peter's campus, of course, and we will present keys to the city to the team," he said. "We are proud, we are thankful, and we are going to recognize them because they are special to us."
A spokesperson for the city said to expect more details around the event on Tuesday. You can follow updates on the story here.
