LeAnn Rimes delved deep into a conversation about “life, emotions, mental health, God and much much more” as she spoke with Ed Mylett on his latest podcast episode.
Mylett describes the GRAMMY-winning country singer as “an American treasure and one of my all-time favorite recording artists,” he shared on social media and in his description of the podcast episode as it premiered on Tuesday (October 25). “This conversation will MOVE you and when I say it’s DEEP, I mean it. We are both very open and vulnerable in this conversation and it won’t soon be forgotten. Trust me, we are both incredibly open in ways maybe neither one of us have been before.”
Throughout the podcast, Rimes, a longtime advocate for mental health who has often been open about her own, speaks about her faith and its influence on her music, how she handles anxiety, how her thought processes have evolved over time, Mylett describes. The podcast episode closes with Rimes’ thoughts on “working on getting LOVE from other people… and advice for making your DREAMS come true.”
Rimes admitted as she spoke about her chat on The Ed Mylett Show that “i was full of fear and anxiety.” But that didn’t last long: “ed instantly made me feel welcome & safe to speak so openly, without any judgement. i adore this man! he’s got a massive heart. our conversation was special. one of my favorites to date!”
“This was such a beautiful conversation and I’m overwhelmed by the response…” Mylett responded to Rimes in a comment on Instagram. “Thank you for being so vulnerable and for changing so many lives 🙏🏽”
Rimes also dug deep into a range of emotions and important topics on latest album is god’s work, a “roller coaster ride of an album” that she previously described as a “beautiful journey” that serves as the beginning of a “new chapter.” The 12-track project was about three years in the making. It includes fan-favorite tracks like “spaceship,” “the only,” “awakening,” “the wild,” and others.
“After nearly three years of creating this record, I couldn’t be more excited to release god’s work out into the world. This project is more genre-bending than anything I’ve ever done before, and I have the amazing group of featured artists to thank in part for that,” Rimes said as her album released on Friday. “god’s work will break your heart and heal it all within the same breath. My hope for this record is that everyone connects with the music in their own unique way, discovering something new about themselves and the complexities of life in the process. This album is a reclamation of god for myself and the lowercase ‘g’ really represents the duality of this record and where humanity meets spirit.”
