Charlie Puth's latest album, Charlie, is the product of his life's work, but it was also the greatest challenge of his career.
Speaking to Medha Gandhi and Danielle Monaro in the Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge backstage at Z100 JingleBall, Charlie explained that he's always wanted to self-produce one of his own albums.
"It was just an important thing for me to get out of the way," he says. "Sometimes I was in that studio for hours and hours alone. And that was tedious, and I don't want to do that again. I'm going to involve a lot of people on the next album (laughs)."
Charlie later added that it's "healthy to have a little, healthy amount of narcissism," but he also cautioned that he just arrived in New York from Germany and hadn't slept in a long time.
"The f--k am I talking about right now?" he wondered aloud.
