How Backstreet Boys Agreed On The Tracklist For Their Christmas Album

Backstreet Boys consider their A Very Backstreet Christmas album a happy but unintended consequence of the pandemic, but figuring out what songs to include was a bit of a chore.

Holiday music can be polarizing, and five band members means there are a lot of opinions. BSB dropped by the Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge backstage at Z100 JingleBall and were asked by Elvis Duran how they were able to settle any disagreements.

Kevin Richardson explained that the process was actually pretty straightforward.

"Basically, each of us submitted our list of favorites, we created a spreadsheet, and all the ones we agreed on automatically made it," he said. "We had not really any debates. [There are also ] Three originals; two that we wrote."

So many years into their career, Brian Littrell noted how happy the band was to "finally" have time to make the album.

"It was a little bit of silver-lining that came from COVID," he explained.
