New York City public schools will turn to remote learning on Tuesday due to a coming snow storm that could bring as much as 8 inches of snow to the Big Apple, city officials announced Monday.
Precipitation is expected to begin late Monday night, with snow falling on the five boroughs during the overnight hours. The city has also suspended alternate side parking regulations for Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the region from 4 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday.
NBC New York's Storm Team 4 forecasted 3 - 5 inches of snow in NYC, but noted that could change depending on the path the storm takes.
Long Island and NJ suburbs closest to NYC could get 5 - 8 inches. Points further north and west of the city could get 6 - 10 inches.
