Days after New York City received its most significant snowfall in more than two years, the city is in line for even more wintry accumulation.
Forecasters are predicting another 2 inches of snow for the city Friday night into Saturday morning, with snow beginning to fall sometime after midnight throughout most of the Tri-State area. Points south and west of the city could receive even more than 2 inches.
Sunny skies for most of the day Friday will turn cloudy overnight with snow beginning around 12 a.m. with temperatures dropping to around the freezing mark.
Some New Yorkers will wake up to snowfall Saturday morning but the skies will clear by the afternoon, with highs around 38 degrees.
Sunday is due to be partly cloud with highs around 40. Monday, President's Day, will be sunny with highs around 43.
This past Tuesday, New York City got more than 2 inches of snow for the first time in more than 700 days, with more than 3 inches of snow measured in Central Park and up to 7 inches in some neighborhoods in the five boroughs.
NYC Public Schools closed in advance of the snow, marking the first time city schools implemented their remote learning programs for students and teachers since the height of the COVID pandemic.
