Zac Efron was rushed to the hospital in Spain on Friday (August 2) following a "minor" swimming pool incident.
According to People, the 17 Again star was vacationing at a villa in Ibiza when the incident occurred. Efron was swimming when he suffered a "health scare" that required the attention of medical professionals. The 36-year-old actor was immediately sent to a local hospital as a "precautionary measure" as the incident was allegedly not severe.
Efron was released the next morning in good shape, and one of his reps reported that he was "fine."
People mentioned that the silver screen standout spent much of last week in Ibiza and was spotted on stage at a beach club with DJ Martin Garrix one day prior to the incident. Video footage captured by someone in the crowd (shared to TikTok) shows the High School Musical alum taking the stage with Garrix as the club goes wild.
Efron has kept busy this year, unveiling his latest project, A Family Affair with Nicole Kidman and Joey King, in June, following a December 2023 release of Von Erich brothers' story, The Iron Claw.
Information regarding what led Efron to experience the health scare at his villa swimming pool in Ibiza has yet to be released, but fans can now rest assured that the actor has safely returned from the hospital.
