Hayden Panettiere took it upon herself to address recent health concerns after an interview was released that showed her slurring her speech.

The "Nashville" alum took to Instagram on Monday (September 23) to speak directly to fans concerned that medication intake was affecting her ability to perform during the interview, zooming in on the real reason she was not at her best.

The beloved actress revealed that she had a long day before sitting down to chat with People Magazine, and that her dog was recovering from an emergency surgical procedure that caused her to miss sleep in the days leading up to the interview. Panettiere was unable to see the segment before it went live and asked People if they needed to re-do it because she was exhausted.

"We asked the interviewer if we could re-do it another day or do a follow up interview on zoom. She assured us that it wasn’t necessary, and that she felt it was an emotional and heartfelt interview. We were also told they would edit it and that it would be a beautiful piece."

Panettiere recently opened up about the loss of her younger brother, Jansen, who passed away in January 2023 due to an unforeseen heart condition. The loss was very life-altering for the 35-year-old actress, and she avoided the public eye for months following the tragic event.

Regardless of what she continues to go through emotionally, Panettiere noted that the medication she's taking is nobody's business.

"Grief looks different on everyone. Whether or not I am on medication is none of anyone’s business and is between me and my doctor. I am doing interviews to promote my new film because I am proud of it."

The Bring It On: All or Nothing alum closed out her statement by drawing attention to the toxicity of social media, thanking fans who had her back as rumors populated the Internet.

See Panettiere's full statement below and stay tuned for her upcoming film, Amber Alert, out September 27th!
