Dasha can't believe how quickly 2024 went by or how much she accomplished in just 12 months.
She tells Crystal Rosas backstage at Z100's All Access Lounge presented by Smashburger that it's mind-boggling to look back at where she was last winter to where she is now.
"This year went by so fast, yet it felt like the longest year of my entire life," Dasha says. "Back in March when the song ['Austin'] was blowing up feels like three years ago. I'm like, 'Wow, that was less than a year ago, that's crazy.'
"I think my favorite moment of this year was winning the People's Choice country award with Shania Twain giving me the award. You can tell by my reaction, I was just not expecting that at all. Also, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was also fun, even though I had lipstick everywhere. But you know what, it's okay. I'm just a girl."
Dasha adds that she was so shocked to be recognized at the People's Choice awards that she kind of hung on Shania during their embrace, just to collect herself.
"She and I hugged for a really long time onstage," she continues. "I think I needed a beat just like reset because I was about to give a speech. I had absolutely nothing prepared, because I didn't think I was going to win."
