Gladys Rodriguez is speaking out about the 'Selena' Netflix series. She was hired as a consultant for the series based on Selena Quintanilla's life. The singer has a very successful and legendary career that was cut short after she was murdered in 1995. Rodriguez says that not only was the staff overworked and underpaid but the production budget was only allotted to $2 million/episode as opposed to the 'Crown's" $13 million/episode. Rodriguez during the interview revealed that she is dealing with PTSD from this experience. She said, “I feel like our work was cheapened from the start. We were never given a fair chance. ... Representation is what we want but it goes beyond that — we want to be treated equally.”
