Brian Flores, former Miami Dolphins head coach is suing the NFL, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos for alleged "racism in hiring" practices.
Brian Flores is originally from Brooklyn. He attended Poly Prep High School then Boston College before an injury cut his career short. He eventually joined the New England Patriots and worked his way up to the unofficial Defensive Coordinator position. He was technically Linebackers Coach but would call the defensive plays. In 2019, Flores was named Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins. He coached the team up until a month or so ago when he was fired.
Flores is alleging that the hiring practices from several NFL teams are rooted in racism and even includes text messages with New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. In the text exchange, Belichick congrats Flores on being hired by the New York Giants before he'd even been interviewed. Belichick eventually admits he texted the wrong person and meant to text eventual new head coach Brian Daboll.
