These are the BIGGEST Mistakes You're Making Every Morning

What's your morning routine like? Are you one of those, "early to bed...early to rise" type people? Well, hate to break it to ya, but that really doesn't matter actually. The time you go to bed doesn't really mean that you're gonna have a successful morning...sorry!

According to Liz Plosser, an author who literally wrote the book on how to have a successful morning, there are a few things that we might be doing totally wrong that are contributing to those sluggish early hours! She shares some of those with Travel + Leisure

HITTING THE SNOOZE BUTTON

"I want everybody to know this: This is not about you having to wake up at 5:00 a.m. It's truly not. It's about making the most of the morning, whenever it feels right," Plosser said. Try to pick the right time to actually get up instead of just hitting that snooze button!

NOT PREPPING PROPERLY THE NIGHT BEFORE

"It's already so hard to motivate and to do what you need to do in the morning," think about how easy it is to just plop back into that comfy bed. When you set up a routine beforehand, getting up and moving is significantly easier.

FINDING YOUR PERSONAL POWER UP

In her book, Plosser brings up the point about helping "figure out their personal power-ups to help them supercharge both their mornings and thus the rest of their day too."

What are those core values that will help motivate you...if you don't find those, it's gonna be a little tougher to roll outta the sack!

NOT MOVING AT ALL

She's not saying that you have to run like 5 miles or anything, she just suggests you move your bones a little!

"There's so much power in moving your body and how that affects your clarity, your confidence."

CHOOSING THE WRONG ALARM

That alarm sound that YELLS AT YOU isn't the vibe is it?? It can actually put you into a really crappy mood! Try picking something a little more chill or a sound that is soothing, but wakes you from your sleep. Something that makes you feel good will probably prevent you from hitting that snooze button over and over.
