John Legend joins Maxwell and Crystal over Zoom to talk all about his upcoming album 'LEGEND,' as well as performing his new song 'Pieces' at the 2022 Emmy Awards.
"This is the second time I've done an In Memoriam, the first time was at The Grammys, and it was a performance with Cynthia Erivo and we did God Only Knows by The Beach Boys, a classic Beach Boys song." Legend continues, "The cool thing about that was we were honoring these amazing artists who we lost in the past year and we had a chance to really celebrate who they are and what they mean to us." However the in memoriam he performed at The Emmys on September 12th was different. This is the first time I've done it with an original song. Legend continues, "This song "Pieces" is on my album and it's about what it means to experience loss and to keep living after that and so I felt it was the right song for the moment."
