Donald Glover, the man behind Childish Gambino, will retire his alter-ego coming after his upcoming last album. Glover told Huffpost that he's retiring his music career because he feels it's not "necessary" anymore.
“There’s nothing worst than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we’re like, ‘again?’” he said. “You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that.”
Childish Gambino has released seven mixtapes, three studio albums, and two EPs but "Redbone" is his first Top 20 single. Even after ending his music career, Glover will keep busy on TV shows "Atlanta" and "Deadpool." He also will make appearances in "Spider-man: Homecoming" and the upcoming "Han Solo: A Star-Wars story."
We are super upset to see Childish Gambino go so we'll just keep listening to "Redbone" to help us through this hard time.
