Zedd stopped by to hang in the studio with Maxwell to talk about the amazing songs he's been putting out. First there was "Stay" featuring Alessia Cara and now "Get Low" with Liam Payne. We seriously can't get enough of the DJ this summer.
When it comes to collaborations, Zedd is definitely a pro. While working on "Stay" Zedd knew Alessia would be the perfect voice for the track, but reveals he didn't know her well enough to reach out. When he personally knows the artist that he's trying to work with, Zedd admits to "sliding" into DM's! After meeting and playing the track for Alessia, she was all in. She recorded the song, and that was that, "it was pretty quick," explains Zedd.
When it came to his song with One Direction's Liam Payne, Zedd said, "It was awesome." When the two first sat down together, Zedd shared with Liam what he was working on and vice versa, that's when Zedd played "Get Low" for the singer. They both knew this was the "Perfect opportunity to make a song" that was way out of both of their comfort zones. Collaborating with Liam or any artist for Zedd helps him get to a level of music that he couldn't reach by himself.
That statement was made clear when Liam and Zedd performed "Get Low" live for the first time together on Good Morning America! There was even a performance by Alessia Cara during the set!
