Macklemore stopped by Z100 to talk with Maxwell about his upcoming album Gemini, which is something different for the 34-year-old rapper. Gemini is the first Macklemore album since 2005 that was not produced by long time collaborator Ryan Lewis. While it was definitely a big change, Macklemore is truly back and better than ever on his third album in five years. Despite missing his familiar collaborator, Macklemore was able to work with a slew of other talented artists, such as Skylar Grey and Lil Yachty.
Macklemore also opened up about his personal life, telling Maxwell about how much he's enjoying fatherhood. The Seattle born rapper has a two-year-old daughter named Sloane with his wife Tricia Davis. After being asked at what age he would let Sloane date, Macklemore had such a dad reaction to the question. Struggling between wanting to be a cool dad and wanting to protect his little girl, Macklemore said Sloane will be allowed to date when she's a freshman in high school.
Gemini drops on Sept. 22 and we couldn't be more excited.
