Sports betting has eventually kicked off in New Jersey this morning, starting with Governor Phil Murphy placing the first wager!! Governor Murphy's bet was $20 for Germany to win the World Cup and $20 on the New Jersey Devils to win the Stanley's Cup. He casted the wager at about 10:33 am this Thursday Morning at a ceremony at Monmouth Park racetrack in Oceanport. Betting also went underway at the Borgata casino in Atlantic City with former NBA star, Julius Erving, leading with the first wager. The Governor met up at Borgata casino to place two more bets, $20 for the Mets to win against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night and another $20 for Martin Truex Jr., a New Jersey native, to win the next Daytona 500!!
