Macklemore didn't let rain, thunder, & lightning prevent him from giving his fans the performance they paid for. While on tour with Kesha in Charlotte, North Carolina, the weather became too much for the venue. His final two songs were cut & he had to end his set a little early to maintain the safety of the crowd.
He actually might have cursed the night when he took the stage and shared an impassioned speech with the crowd:
“And I remember, when I was growing up, I had a baseball game one time. I was with my grandfather ... and it was a big game. I said, ‘Gramps, is there gonna be a (game) tonight? It’s supposed to be lightning and thunder.’ He looked me in the eyes, and said, ‘Ben, you are the lightning. You are the thunder.’ Tonight, Charlotte, we are the rainstorm. It cannot hold us back. We came here tonight to have a celebration in the summertime. We don’t give a (expletive) about the weather!”
Of course after sharing that story, the sky opened and it began to pour! After being ushered off stage, he & his crew thought of a brilliant idea...let's give the fans what they came for, from our dressing room. Macklemore and his crew took to Instagram Live & streamed a DOPE session of "Glorious" for everyone to watch on their cell phones!!
