Lady Gaga Receives Sweet Note From Elton John’s Children Ahead Of Oscars

Last night's Oscars were all about Lady Gaga as the singer, songwriter, and actress took home her first Oscar in the Best Original Song category for her song "Shallow" from A Star Is Born. Gaga also performed the song live with her costar Bradley Cooper (who else still isn't over it?). While we all consider ourselves children of Mother Monster, Lady Gaga got some encouragement from her actual children prior to the 91st Academy Awards last night - godchildren that is! Gaga is godmother to Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish's two children, Zachary, eight and Elijah, six. The children, who lovingly refer to Gaga as "Gaga Mother" reportedly sent her a handwritten "good luck" note before the ceremony. Speaking at the Oscar watch party hosted by his husband, Furnish stated "If Gaga Mother wins we’ll have to send her a congratulations note and we are big on handwritten notes and of course flowers, I think beautiful white flowers.” Well, after last night's win it looks like Gaga Mother should be expecting some mail!

Now with an Oscar and a Grammy under her belt, Lady Gaga is well on her way to joining the short list of EGOT winners (THERE'S ONLY 15!!!!). EGOT winners are artists that win all four of the major awards in the entertainment industry - Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. It's a huge accomplishment that has been achieved by very few - but the internet seems to have no doubt that Lady Gaga will win an Emmy and a Tony and join the exclusive club of EGOT winners sooner rather than later.

If Lady Gaga does become an EGOT winner, here are some of the incredible artists that she will be joining.

John Legend

Audrey Hepburn

Rita Moreno

Whoopi Goldberg

Mel Brooks

Andrew Lloyd Webber
