Unless you've been living under a rock, I'm sure you already know that the fiercest ladies of Hollywood are teaming up for a new movie called Hustlers. The film was announced by STX Entertainment back in March and will feature stars like Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, Constance Wu, and Mercedes Ruel. The film is based on a true story and follows a group of strippers who team up to take down their Wall Street clients. Jennifer Lopez recently sent the internet into a frenzy when she posted a photo on the Hustlers set on Instagram.
While the film features many seasoned and experienced actresses, it will be Cardi B's film debut. In a recent interview with The Morning Mash Up on Sirius XM Hits 1, JLo revealed how she had a hand in getting Cardi cast in Hustlers. The pair were already friends since collaborating on JLo's song Dinero and JLo was actually the one who called Cardi and offered her the role. She said "I called her and asked her if she wanted to do the movie and I explained it to her."
She also talked about how since Cardi B previously worked as a stripper, she had invaluable firsthand knowledge of the industry, stating "She knew so much about this world already. It was a thing that hit home for her."
At the end of the interview, JLo also offered a tidbit about why this film is so important right now, saying "We think we know what everybody else's life feels like, but we don't. And it'll be interesting to kind of explore that a little bit with this world from their perspective instead of the male perspective." PREACH IT GIRL!
