It's not every day that you get to make someone's dream come true and on today, May 14th, 2019 we were able to do just that. Partnering with Make-A-Wish we were able to help facilitate one high school senior's wish.
In December 2016, Alex Bamford was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. "Prior to that I was all sports," says Alex about his journey. When treatment began, Alex found himself diving into music, learning how to produce mixes. Before he knew it, the 19-year-old has over 12 MILLION plays on his songs. His first post had 100,000 views within the first week. Before he goes off to play division 1 lacrosse at college, Make-A-Wish had something else in mind.
Alex thought he was just getting a VIP tour of the radio station he grew up listening to but Maxwell and the Make-A-Wish foundation had something else in mind... Let's give Alex the chance to play a set LIVE at Gov Ball this summer. To say Alex was surprised would be an understatement. We also gave Alex the opportunity to play one of his mixes in Maxwell's 9@9 countdown.
