Today is National Nurses Day and the start of Nurses Week so we have to show love to our healthcare heroes!! This past year has been extremely difficult for all of us and thanks to the men & women who have dawned scrubs, PPE, and stood beside doctors...we've been able to see the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel! A little about National Nurses Day, well it lands each year on May 6th and kicks off Nurses Week until May 12th! It started in 1953 when an employee of the US Department of Health named Dorothy Sutherland sent a letter to then President Eisenhower asking him to recognize the day and declare it National Nurses Day. Even though President Eisenhower didn't make it official, people began celebrating it the following year anyway!!
