Funny man Kevin Hart can now add author to his résumé with the release of his first book I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons, which hits stores tomorrow.

In the book Hart opens up about his life and says, "people are going to be blown away by the level of honesty that I chose to be.”

"This book is not something that I phoned it in for,” he told On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Monday. "This is really me. This is my story. This is my memoir. I wanted people to understand this road to success. The good, the bad and the ugly is not only in here, but I'm sharing it because I feel this information is important."

“If you look at life, your life is just like a book. You’ve got chapters. There’s chapters in your life and you are the one that gets to write what the ending of that book is going to be. You’re the one who controls the story," he says. "At the end of the day when you close that story, when you shut the cover on that book, you got to look back and go, ‘I’m fully responsible for any and everything that’s in this book.’"

"I want my book to be as best as it possibly can and I want my life to be best as it possibly can," Hart explains. "The identity that I now have for myself as a man is one that I want to be passed down to my kids, to my sons, to my daughters. For them to understand what their dad put into his life and why he worked as hard as he worked. At the end of the day it’s about the legacy."

Kevin and his wife Eniko Parrish also have a new baby on the way.  So, have they decided on a baby name? "I tried to get her to name the baby Kevin, Jr. She said 'no.' I said, 'you're right, that's stupid,'" he recalls. "Whatever you want to do, honey. That’s my motto.”

I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons arrives in stores tomorrow. You can also hear Kevin as the voice of George in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie in theaters now.
