Millennials, if you’re Hot GUUUURL Summer wasn’t as well hot as you wanted it to be maybe it’s time to bring in the experts. The generation that grew up with online dating rather than adapting to it like we did (even though we did have aim chat rooms)
Here are some of Gen Z’s best dating tips:
Be Open To Where A First Date Can Lead- What separates the youngest generation of daters is their intentions with dates. More specifically their lack of them. Gen Zers aren’t strictly going out with someone to get laid or get married. They would also be cool if it turned into a hookup, a casual fling, or even a platonic relationship.
Communicate Your Needs Clearly- Queer Dating Coach Ariella Serur says Gen Z is fluid about relationship statuses and more “open to exploring alternative relationship orientations like non-monogamy.” This isn’t to say Millennials aren't, it's just that Gen Z knows what they want and they’re better at telling their matches with confidence. So the direct approach...GOT IT.
Take Advantage Of Dating Apps Without Shame- Many Millennials still believe there’s something weird about meeting someone online. As proven by many couples going out of their way to lie or make up another story of how they met other than FarmersOnly.com. But to Gen Z, dating apps aren’t taboo at all. In fact, dating coach Connell Barrett says they’re as normal as “as a Baby Boomer saying 'Come here often?' at a bar back in the day.” LOL
