According to the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery the number of millennials who got plastic surgery increased more than any other generation in 2021. Rhinoplasty is the most requested procedure which is a procedure that changes the shape of your nose.
Dara Liotta, a dual board-certified facial plastic surgeon in Manhattan, answered the basics about the procedure with “Pure Wow”
- Who is rhinoplasty for? Technically anyone who wants a new nose but also those who understand that not everything is possible. “There are different variables to consider such as your natural anatomy, skin thickness, and cartilage stiffness, which have a big impact on the results that are possible.”
- What are common misconceptions about the procedure? Social media “makes plastic surgery—rhinoplasty included—look like no big deal. While rhinoplasty is a fairly straightforward surgery, it is still a surgery on your face and you should take it seriously.”
- How long does it take to heal? “It takes at least a full year to entirely heal from something like a rhinoplasty”
I was told I had a deviated septum with the option to fix it with a surgery and I couldn't have said no faster. I am absolutely not against elective surgery but it scares the crap out me.
