A baggage handler has issued a warning to passengers who tie ribbons to their suitcases to help identify them. The annual summer travel rush, which is predicted to be one of the biggest ever this year,. The Federal Aviation Administration has already said it is gearing up for one of its most hectic seasons yet.

An increase in passengers, means a rise in worry about perhaps losing personal items. Therefore, attaching a piece of thread or ribbon to your luggage is a cheap and effective technique to help find it in the baggage area for a lot of people.

But according to one of our sources at the Dublin airport, the simple hack could result in huge delays. Ribbons that people tie onto their suitcases to help identify them can cause issues with the bag being scanned in the baggage hall.

If the bag can't be scanned automatically, it can end up in manual processing, which could mean your bag doesn't make it to the flight.

This all goes to say even though finding your bag may be easier to find if you tie something around it, but is it worth the anxiety of de-boarding your plane or losing your bags!
