While traveling, have you ever wondered how the plane managed to smell fresh and not at all like 46 passengers just took turns doing their business in there? Well we were just as curious as you, so we decided to ask our sources!
If you have ever been in an airplane’s lavatory and noticed a bag of coffee beans or grounds on a shelf, chances are it hasn’t spilled out of a passenger’s carry-on.
Instead, in a world where having uncontrollable diarrhea is bringing down airplanes, the aroma-filled bags are a flight attendant’s greatest, TSA-friendly weapon against smells on a plane. You may be confused as to why they chose coffee beans of all things and the answer is quite simple! Coffee contains nitrogen, which helps neutralize odors in the air quickly and safely.
Now that we've both learned something new today, I know what little baggie ill make sure to carry with me on my next flight or even bathroom break!
