Oliver Tree On His Wild Life: 'I Don't Want To Copy What Everyone's Doing'

Oliver Tree is out to have a unique sound and a unique life.

Whether he's setting a world record for building the world's biggest scooter, hanging out in a tree in the Middle East with "a bunch of goats" or sailing with cannibal pirates, Oliver is going to be himself and do things his way.

He checked in with Maxwell & Crystal at Z100 All Access Lounge backstage at the FILA Interview Lounge to offer a peak at the wild ride he's having.

"The thing is, I get my inspiration from just meeting people, traveling," Oliver explains. "I don't listen to music — I don't like music. I like my own music 'cause I make it for myself ... My new album I've been making, Cowboy Tears, is the best music I've ever heard. I guess

"I'll put it this way: if you made music for yourself that was so perfectly made for all you moods, why would you need other music? It's that simple. And ignorance is bliss. I don't want to hear the stuff, I don't want to copy what everyone's doing."
