The MTV Video Music Awards have arrived!

Hosted by LL Cool J live from UBS Arena in New York, the 2025 VMAs returned Sunday (September 7) for a night full of show-stopping performances, touching tributes, jaw-dropping looks and excitement to see which artists would take home a moonman trophy.

Lady Gaga leads the list of nominees, earning 12 nods overall, with Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar following closely behind with 11 and 10 nominations, respectively. The 2025 VMAs also added two new categories to an already heavy competition, best pop artist and best country video.

The night also included performances from Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Alex Warren, Tate McRae, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone and more as well as a star-powered tribute to late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne with the help of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt.

Mariah Carey also returned to the VMAs for the first time in 20 years to receive the Video Vanguard Award while Busta Rhymes was honored as the first recipient of the inaugural Rock The Bells Visionary Award.
